A Parent Fights for Her Daughter
“Two and a half years after learning my daughter was involved in human trafficking, I contacted several agencies with Courtney’s House being amongst them.
I personally was clueless as to such activity, but with the situation surprisingly presenting itself to my front door, I knew I had to educate myself. In my search, I found “Courtney’s House” repeatedly given to me by others as a point of reference. Upon calling Courtney’s House, I felt a sense of relief because upon speaking with Tina and telling her my daughter was involved with human trafficking and an adult, she did not turn me away. I submitted as much information as I could and received the support I needed as a mother crying out for help.
Tina, the founder of Courtney’s House inspires me greatly in the way she has created a safe haven for survivors and how she continues to make a difference in the lives of others. I am touched by two features of her life: adoption and human trafficking as these issues have affected my life as well.
I feel as though my daughter being an adult is against her and myself leaving us both “just out here”.
I understand my daughter is an adult ~ that does not mean she chose to be a victim. “
